Officially, Apollo 17, launched December 17th, 1972 was the last manned mission to the moon. But in December of 1974, two American astronauts were sent on a secret mission to the moon funded by the US Department of Defense. What you are about to see is the actual footage which the astronauts captured on that mission. While NASA denies its authenticity, others say it's the real reason we've never gone back to the moon. - youtube.com
A project by 'Wanted' director Timur Bekmambetov and 'Matrix' visual-effects vet Trevor Cawood, Apollo 18 follows 'the blairwitch project' and 'paranormal activity' on the "found-footage" genre if one might call it. The success of the last two movies (sequels not included) was primarily due to the fact that it allowed the moviegoers to consider the possibility of the film as being true or 'real'. Apollo 18 will try to do the same by playing on the plausibility of a 'secret' mission to the moon gone wrong.
