While for others, Christmas means new iPods, laptops, clothes, etc, there are some whose wishes are as simple as a little food on the table and clean water to drink. We all say that Christmas is a time for giving but most of the time we are too preoccupied thinking of what to write on our wish list. The spirit of Christmas has been forgotten by many.Having spent the past Christmases away from my family, I learned that cliche of Christmas being more than the fireworks, decorations, and gifts holds truer than ever. Family is what makes Christmas a holiday to celebrate. And of course, realizing that it is not we who deserves to be given gifts but it is Jesus Christ. Nowadays, we often times forget that it is His birthday that we are celebrating.
