One Happy Story

Pyong and Lyn (398)While waiting for a very important call, I was out of town to shoot a friend's wedding. It was a Friday morning when I got to the port and went directly to the hotel. I was still waiting for someone to smash me on the head with a bat for taking this job solo. Who's crazy enough to shoot the prenup, wedding, and post-nup by himself? Apparently, I was. And to think my friend also wanted me to be his best man. Just glad he found someone else or I would have been better off with a rope and a noose.

The wedding went by without a glitch and surprisingly I think I did a hell of a job if I must say so myself. Good thing there were only 50+ people in the event that I successfully managed to breeze through all of them during the entire event. I have to say though that shooting indoors with just an 18-55mm kit lens and 50mm prime on an entry level DSLR was tougher than I thought. But I'm glad I was still able to take some pretty awesome shots. And for the record, try to use a protective filter on your lens when shooting flying doves -- specially when they're flying towards you.

Morning after the wedding, we traveled 30 minutes to Liloan to shoot the post nuptial set at the parola (lighthouse). Usually, photo shoots at the lighthouse are done before sunrise to maximize the effects of the lights. However, I didn't really want to impose on their wedding night so we decided to leave after breakfast. Luckily, when we got to the location the lights were still pretty awesome and we also managed to catch ourselves a rainbow.

And so from the prenup shoot that we took last year up to the actual wedding and post nuptial shoot last week, I'm happy to say -- "That's a wrap!" Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Alfeo and Lyn Sinogaya! Thank you for giving me the honor to capture one of the most memorable event in your lives. Best wishes!
