I Am Canon Photographer Stoned To Death

Kidding.

Since this post will be about someone seeking attention, I believe that the title is just befitting. I've been catching up with my readings lately and I stumbled on a post from one of the forums I was browsing from. Apparently, there is a rumor that a photographer who wore the Nikon shirts (given by Nikon as a sponsor of the event) during Sinulog 2013 street parade but this said photographer erased the word "NIKON" and replaced it with "CANON" and was disqualified by Ana Conijero (Sinulog Foundation) for defacing a major sponsor.

There are only two things I can think of why someone would do such a thing: first, to blatantly mock Nikon as a sponsor, and second plainly just to seek attention. I pray for this photographer's sake his reason was the second one. I mean, if he was a Canon user and he wanted to be loyal to his brand he could had just left the Nikon shirt at home (or better yet bought a Canon shirt from me) instead of marring the logo of a sponsor which in itself is a form of vandalism.

With the increasing number of "photographers" nowadays comes also an increasing number of arrogant wannabees those who thinks that owning a DSLR automatically makes them a professional photographer. Such as the case of another rude "photographer" during the Sinulog parade. These actions are certainly not those of a professional. I only hope that these events will serve as a lesson to many others. Respect the craft.
