Supernatural: The Anime

On a lighter note, while we're waiting for the next episode of Supernatural. I think here's something that you might want to check out. Famed Japanese Anime Studio Madhouse, creators of Trigun and Deathnote, has produced a direct-to-DVD anime version of Supernatural. Debuted last January 2011, the first season consisted of 22 episodes covering the storyline of the first two seasons of the live-action series. It will also include original content exploring the Winchesters' childhoods and expanding upon secondary characters.

Shigeyuki Miya and Atsuko Ishizuka will be co-directing, with Kripke credited as the project creator. Madhouse co-founder Masao Maruyama will serve as executive producer, with Naoya Takayama supervising the scripts and Takahiro Yoshimatsu designing the characters. Yūya Uchida and Hiroki Touchi, who voice Sam and Dean for the Japanese dub of the live-action series, will reprise their roles.

Jared Padalecki officially signed on to dub the English language for Sam, while Jensen Ackles only signed to do the last two episodes of the series for Dean due to scheduling reasons.
